Friday

in texas with pinky & beach

when i got to corpus christi, i was met by my new friend pinky who took me for a walk on the beach.

the next day we went to a football game & i watched this tough
little guy play

after the ball game
capt ron & beach took me to a bird mart. not sure if this fellow
wanted to play or have me for dinner.

while beach was shopping at the craft store, i tried out this plane; just my size

one day we had lunch at a little place in the marina with a great view of downtown.
(i think we had shrimp)

Wednesday

at home with martha

filbert took me for a tour around the house. there are a lot of strange creatures living here. I met the five irish sisters who live in a little paper house on the fireplace mantel. to be honest, they made me a little nervous the way they looked at me. filbert says they are ok but i don't know.

filbert took me up to the attic sewing room where martha works on her fiber art. he told me that we weren't supposed to be there. mr. onions took me later that he didn't think martha would mind if i went up but it was off limits to filbert because of some kind of accident with buttons and threads. mr. onions didn't know the details and filbert won't talk about it. anyway, i saw a wall hanging that martha is working on, her stash and everything.

(we helped)

on the way downstairs we stopped in the bathroom for a few minutes so filbert could trade insults with the rubber duck who lives there. his name is george.

next we went out to the kitchen where i met bonitamaria, a quetzal who is a good friend of jose's. it was really a very tiring day.

filbert and i were just playing with the rubber bands and if he hadn't let go of his end it wouldn't have smacked me in the mouth - and i didn't cry no matter what he says. anyway, i ended up at the dentist's because one of my poor little teeth was loose. dr. lenny looked at it and said not to worry because it was a baby tooth and would have come out soon by itself.

martha and paul felt sorry for me so they took me to pasta lovers which is a very nice restaurant in queens. martha let me have some smoked chicken ravioli which was very good and the chef sent out a nice little bowl of canoli filling for me. they have crayons for drawing at all the tables which was nice but rather strange because most of the customers were lawyers and such from across the street at the queens court house.

on the way home we stopped and took a walk in hempstead state park which is only a few miles from the house. i had a lot climbing in the bushes.

martha took me and filbert with her when she went to her beading group. the ladys were all working on beaded jewelry. rita was working on a black and silver necklace and linda was making one that looked like white coral. they were showing martha how to do the beadig because she had never done it before.

Tuesday

more with martha in nyc

martha and paul took me into new york city today for a special treat. filbert wanted to come but paul said he couldn't be trusted to behave himself in at the movies.

i had never been to the movies before soi wasn't sure what he meant. we took the lirr into penn station and then the subway up to central park.
the movie was all in french so i found it very confusing because i had to read the sub-titles at the same time i was watching the movie. i think i missed some stuff but martha said it was just as well - whatever that meant

after the movie we walked over to a nice little french restaurant for a late lunch. we had a real nice waiter who brought a bit of pate for me. i didn't like the wine so i also got some cream. it was very nice.

we walked to the french institute and met lionel and claudine. lionel was nice but claudine is very charming.

on the way to the train to go home, we stopped at myzel's which is a really really nice candy store. the lady who runs it is from belgium and makes most of the cany herself. martha bought dark chocolate covered ginger. i didn't like it that much so she bought me a piece of marzapane. now that was good. when we got home everyone was waiting to hear how the day went so i got to bed rather late.

Sunday

Hi, I'm David!

welcome to my blog!
i'm the official travel kitty for the freethinkers street team.

so many neat places to see, wacky things to do & interesting people to meet. check back to see what I've been up to; rumor has it there are very interesting things in store for little me... oh boy!!

my not so humble beginnings:

before hooking up with my pals, i took a bite out of the big apple!
that's me in front of the marquee at the old ed sullivan theatre.
(See how we match, me & the marquee?)
ANOTHER cat named david hangs around inside...
maybe someday I'll go back & meet THE BIG GUY.

i poked my head into
hello deli next door...
rupert was so excited!

he stopped making
sandwiches long enough
to pose with me...
obviously a treasured moment
for us both.

the nice gal who took these 2 pics is lisa, The Temporal Millionaire on etsy.

she makes kitties who roam the world, part of an interactive art project called
Travel Kitty. wherever you ramble, keep your eyes peeled... you never know when you're gonna meet up with a travel kitty. if you're really lucky, it'll be ME!
